1.2 "A Leaf in the Wind" Recap

Y'know that Mako and Korra gonna get together

SPOILER ALERT

At Tenzin's home on Air Temple Island in Republic City,  Korra asks Tenzin if they could go see a Pro-Bending match in the city.  Tenzin says no and tells Korra that Pro-Bending is a mockery to the art of Bending.  Korra agrees to stay on the island to complete her training -- for now.

Korra is unable to Airbend at all.  Tenzin says that the Avatar faces the most difficulty learning the element that is most opposite to their personality.

During Airbending practice, Korra cannot excel because of her aggressive and headstrong disposition.

Korra, who is still interested in Pro-Bending, listens to a match over the radio to Tenzin's dismay.

"I think I'm doing it wrong"

After another failed Airbending lesson, Korra decides to escape to the Pro-Bending arena so she can go see a match.

Ooo, shiny arena

When she arrives at the Pro-Bending arena, Korra is greeted by Bolin and . . . acknowledged by his brother, Mako.

Why so serious?

The sport of Pro-Bending is introduced.  The Fire Ferrets (the team Mako and Bolin are on) almost lose their match, but win because Mako strategically stays on the defensive in order to tire his opponents out (hmm . . . best offense is a good defense -- have we heard this before?)

Bolin shows Korra some moves concerning Pro-Bending.  Korra takes up the moves easily (unlike her Airbending lessons) and becomes immersed in the sport.

Back on Air Temple Island, Korra yet again fails another Airbending lesson and becomes frustrated with Tenzin, blaming him for not being a good enough teacher.

It's a dream come true

Korra gets a chance to Pro-Bend when the Fire Ferret's waterbender ditches the team right before the tournament (a team needs one earthbender, firebender, and waterbender).  Korra, being the aggressive Avatar that she is, immediately gets penalized for knocking a teammate out of the side of the ring.  Regardless, the Fire Ferrets win the match and get a place in the championship tournament.

Korra + Mako = <3

Korra and Tenzin come to an agreement and make amends.
